My, my.

It would seem that my young master has been thoroughly exhausted by recent events and finds himself predisposed for the time being. [Translation: Ciel is in a sleep coma and Sebastian feels the need to share this with everyone. It doubles over as a polite cancellation of any prior engagements on the behalf of the earl]

I will gladly send any regards as soon as he is able to receive them.

In the interim, I've been working on preparing jam rolls. I'm told they are best enjoyed during colder weather months and I'm trying to perfect a recipe.

As a gesture of the Phantomhive hospitality, I would be honored if anyone would be willing and available for a taste. [Chuckles] I don't think we need to concern ourselves about disturbing the earl, nor shall we be interrupted.

I've already secured lawn bags and you can retrieve whatever else you need behind the house, in the shed.

Given enough time, one can find quite a few variations on what one would consider a 'traditional' recipe. As lovely as the tradtional way is, the latter is certainly gaining in popularity, especially among those with a sweet tooth.

Would it be too rich to serve with tea?

Now that would depend upon the type of tea now, wouldn't it? I certainly wouldn't imagine pairing it with certain flavoured teas they make these days.

No, I'm afraid I'm not. [ He had, after all, only responded due to the mentioning of sweets. ]

May I try it when you make them?

I pictured you as more of a city-type, really.

I don't dislike them, I've not had one I've ever been terribly fond of though.

Jam rolls, huh?

I haven't had anything like that since I was a kid.

I generally serve Earl Gray to my young master.

Is that so, Sir? [Chuckles]

The earl did reside in a townhouse in London before arriving here, though the Phantomhive estate is also in the country.

Then I will try to remedy that. [Smiles]

Would you care to sample the jam rolls? I would be honored to have your good opinion before the earl wakes.

I do. They were actually one of the things I always had as a kid for one of my snacks~! I'd love to try any that you do make.

One can hardly go wrong with a nice Earl Gray. It also usually pairs quite well with most pastries and cakes.

I'm sure you'll succeed!

All right. [ YES. YES. ] I enjoy sweets.

...Though... what exactly is a jam roll, Sebastian-san?

[Finnian looks rather determined to actually do the job, or try either way.]
